Charlotte was a small brown Jenny with big character and spirit. Born in 1996 she was at the Sanctuary for 16 years. She was great friends with Cocoa who died late last year but Charlotte was happy in the shed and field with the rest of her donkey pals.
Over the last two years, we had been continually treating her for Laminitis and Arthritis which was affecting her legs and fetlock joints. Last week we had to take the decision with the advice of our vets that as she was at a stage where her quality of life was poor and no more could be done, that she had to be put to sleep.
We all miss her but also know that she had a great life here with the care of the staff and the support of all her adopters.
