Daniel was rescued from Ireland over 18 years ago with several others. The load included Blue Beau who was his special companion at the Sanctuary.
He had very badly neglected hooves and this remained a task to keep them healthy over the many years he was here. Daniel was a very friendly donkey who was very easy and kind to handle.
He was a favourite donkey with the staff and was one of the most popular donkeys on the adoption list. He was nearly thirty years old and unfortunately his health had taken a turn for the worse and he became very ill in the short time before he passed away.
Blue Beau and Daniel had been integrated into the group of ‘oldie’ donkeys a few years ago so Blue Beau has company and friends in that group. He will be very much missed especially with his loyal band of adopters and visitors.
