Adopt a Donkey
How do adoptions work?
Adopting a donkey for yourself?
Your adoption will last for an entire year from the date of purchase. After that, it will simply expire.
Your donkey would love it if you continue to adopt them after that, though.
You can renew your adoption when it is due for renewal (we’ll drop you an email to let you know when the adoption is about to end).
However, you can also set your adoption to automatically renew before it is due to end. This saves you the bother of having to go into your account and renew it.
Buying an adoption as a gift?
Just as when adopting a donkey for yourself, gift adoptions last for an entire year from the date of purchase.
On each donkey’s adoption page you will see the option:
“Is this adoption a gift for someone else?”
Select “Yes, this adoption is a gift for someone else” and a box will appear asking for the recipient’s name.
You will also get the option of having the recipient’s adoption pack posted directly to them, in which case you’ll be asked to enter their full address and postcode.
If you’d prefer for their adoption pack to be posted to yourself, simply select “No, post the adoption pack to me, please”.

Essentials
The Scottish Borders Donkey Sanctuary depends on the kindness of people like you to keep us going. Just helping with the cost of a bale of straw means we can continue providing a safe home for our four-legged residents.
Extras
Set up a monthly donation:
Setting up a regular donation from as little as just £3 per month allows us to better plan how we’ll be able to help our residents over the coming year…
